New Beginnings

It is now spring (summer tbh) in Japan and the official season of beginnings!

For me it’s the beginning of a new chapter; starting my new job and life in Tokyo.

I can’t believe exactly one year ago I decided to take the leap to the unknown and started looking into jobs in Japan. And here I am now – with the job of my dreams starting in Tokyo!

I must admit that everything didn’t go exactly as planned, but I am nevertheless thankful for the way things turned out in the end. I have learned so much from this year; about myself and what I’m capable of, as well as how everything will work out in the end. I aim to challenge myself further this coming year and hope to find an even better version of myself.

But for now I’m most excited for my new job and the new challenges ahead!

I’m finally going back to my digital roots and will be dwelling into the world of programmatic. For those unfamiliar with the term, it’s basically another name for performance-based buying. I used to work as a digital planner and a trader back in Finland, but the Japanese market is going to be something new for me. I’m excited to see how much I can grow as a digital specialist here.

Today it has been a bit over a week since I came back to Japan and a lot of things have happened (which I will try and include in another blog post), but yesterday I finished my first week at my new job and I could not be more excited for the things to come!

I’m thinking about including more thoughts on the digital scene and working in Japan here on this blog, but I’m still considering if that’s interesting to anyone at all?

Do let me know if you’d be interested to hear more!
