It’s been a while since I updated this site (almost a year to be exact) and a lot of things have changed since then

2019 was definitely a year of change for me; I moved to Tokyo permanently, started at a new job, moved into my own apartment, went through heartbreak and butterflies, got to know so many amazing people and places -finally feeling like I have found my place in Japan!

A year ago I had just gotten accepted to my current company and I had flown back to Finland to process my working visa. Looking back at those two months they were quite bittersweet, but getting to spend time with my family and friends was exactly what I needed at that point. It ended up being a very valuable experience for me on what was to come in the following year.

2019 was quite a rollercoaster in many ways; I went through a difficult breakup -that probably came as a surprise to many of the people around us since he was such a big part of my life for the past three years, but at the end of the day I think it was best for both of us. Thankfully we’re still in good terms and I don’t regret any moment; I will cherish those memories forever.

On the other hand I found butterflies with another who shared all my passions and showed me a new side of Japan. Thanks to him I have experienced so many new things and my everyday life has become filled with happiness. I couldn’t be more thankful for him coming to my life.

Within these big changes in my personal life work has been one of my rocks while living here; it has given me purpose, motivation, some challenges at times, as well as a group of likeminded friends. Although I’m not a super work-oriented person, the people I work with mean a lot to me in a professional as well as in a personal level. I couldn’t have picked a better work place.

And last but not least, to all my friends who have stood by me through all the ups and downs I want to say a huge thank you. I know I don’t say it enough, but you are the reason I am who I am today and I will try and let you know it more often this year!

All in all 2020 has been an amazing year so far. I have found some new passions in life, such as yoga and continued some of my old habits -mostly to do with wine🍷 I’m looking forward to trying a lot of new things out this year; including climbing Mount Fuji, camping and making my own pottery!

I can’t believe it’s already March, but I’m really looking forward to the start of spring and the rest of the year (even in the middle of all this chaos)!
